Mike Staines

Chief Executive Officer

Mike is the CEO and Founder of Sentinel Insurance Partners and has specialized in commercial transportation insurance for 39 years.  In 2000, Mike was successful in putting together an auto-hauler insurance program that solved a number of coverage issues related to the transport of new cars. This program became the foundation for the modern standard of auto-hauler insurance, including the “constructive total loss and diminished value” cargo insurance endorsement. With his decades of experience in the industry and a hand-picked team of like-minded partners, Mike established Sentinel Insurance Partners, realising his vision for an industry-leading agency that fuses the highest degree of expertise with best-in-class service. Whether a client has one truck or a thousand, they’ll find a trusted partner in Sentinel’s team.

Outside of work, Mike’s greatest joy is found in spending time with and cheering on his four grown children; daughter Maddy is the Marketing Executive at Sentinel, son Wade is a firefighter & paramedic, Zach is an accomplished backpacker and outdoorsman, and Blake is pursuing his master’s degree in music and is an aspiring opera singer. When Mike isn’t working or spending time with family, he enjoys kayaking and trail running in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Carrie C. Wall

Director of Risk Management / Account Executive

Fluent in English, French, and Arabic

Meet Carrie Wall, Sentinel’s Director of Risk Management and Account Executive. Born and raised in Delaware, Carrie moved down south after graduating college in 2004, working for the largest independent credit card company in the world. In 2009, Carrie changed her career focus from banking to insurance, adjusting high severity auto and premises liability claims with one of the nation’s top insurers. From there, she moved to a commercial insurance brokerage as the claims and risk manager and partnered closely with hundreds of trucking companies in auto hauling and other transportation sectors. At her prior agency, Carrie was responsible for ensuring her insured clients’ claims were properly handled, monitoring and managing litigated claims, coordinating catastrophic loss first response, and providing ongoing policy and claims education. In her current role, Carrie continues to maintain oversight over these activities, and she also reviews policies and contracts to identify uninsured exposures and evaluates company operations and loss trends in order to identify best practices to make recommendations for future risk mitigation. Outside of work, Carrie enjoys cooking for friends and family, reading science fiction, learning new languages (currently, French and Arabic), and playing with her two cats, Blue and Dumpling.

Kristina LaBarre

Director of Operations and Client Relations

Kristina LaBarre is the Director of Operations and Client Relations at Sentinel Insurance Partners, a role she excels in with over two decades of experience in the insurance industry. With a background in both personal and commercial lines, she holds a Transportation Risk Specialist (TRS) Designation, ensuring top-notch service for Sentinel’s clients. Growing up in an Army family, Kristina learned adaptability and resilience, traits that shine in her professional life. Based in North Georgia, she values mountains over beaches and is a devoted parent to her son and daughter who are deeply involved in Scouts and Lacrosse. In her downtime, Kristina enjoys hiking, painting, and spending quality time with her family playing board games. Alongside her family, including Daisy the rescue dog, she is exploring her green thumb, venturing into the world of plant care. Kristina LaBarre is not just a Director of Operations; she is a dedicated professional with a passion for life’s adventures and a big heart.

Maria Quiñones Bumper

Director of Sales and Marketing

Maria is the Director of Sales and Marketing at Sentinel Insurance Partners, bringing over 25 years of experience in transportation insurance. Her career has been diverse and successful, starting as an underwriter and then working as a broker before finding her passion on the agency side. While pursuing her bachelor’s degree at Elon University, Maria met her husband, Monty. They now live Georgia, with their three sons. Phoenix, Maria’s beloved Goldendoodle, adds to their family’s warmth and joyous moments. Growing up in a military family has instilled in Maria a deep appreciation for languages and cultures. With her roots in Panama and Puerto Rico, Spanish is her first language, enriching her professional and personal life. Maria’s love for languages extends to her personal pursuits, where she enjoys learning different languages. Outside of her career, Maria is a passionate reader, a culinary enthusiast, and a dedicated traveler. She is actively involved in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., where she mentors and supports young women and educational programs in her local community. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Maria holds a B.S. in Biology/Psychology from Elon University and an M.S. in Counseling/Adult Education from NC A&T. With her wealth of experience, multicultural perspective, and genuine desire to connect with clients, Maria is a dynamic leader shaping the success of Sentinel Insurance Partners.

Selin Aytac

Account Executive

Fluent in English and Turkish

Selin Aytac is an Account Executive at Sentinel Insurance Partners. She moved to Georgia in 2019 and graduated from Georgia State University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Selin began her career at Sentinel in customer service, where she spent a year and a half supporting clients before moving into sales as an Account Executive. During her time in customer service, she developed a deep understanding of client needs and the insurance process, which she now applies to her sales work.

In her role, Selin focuses on transparency and education, ensuring her clients feel confident and informed throughout every step of the process. She works closely with transportation and trucking clients, helping them navigate renewals, understand market trends, and secure the coverage that best fits their needs. Known for her patience, reliability, and strong problem-solving skills, Selin approaches every challenge with a thoughtful, solutions-oriented mindset. She is committed to building long-term client relationships, advocating for their needs, and providing guidance that clients can trust.

Outside the office, Selin enjoys spending time with friends and family, keeping up with her energetic miniature poodle, Honey, and exploring her creative side through baking and painting.

Milo Moore

Account Executive

Meet Milo Moore, one of our Account Executives at Sentinel Insurance. Milo brings a wealth of experience from the trucking industry. With over two decades of hands-on involvement in auto and transportation, Milo offers a unique insight into our operations. Having driven trucks himself, he understands the industry’s nuances and challenges like no other.

Milo made a seamless transition to the insurance sector in 2024 and is eager to forge strong client connections while ensuring top-notch customer service. Based in Central Florida, Milo is strategically positioned near bustling trucking hubs, presenting lucrative business prospects for Sentinel Insurance.

Outside of work, Milo cherishes family time, whether it’s soaking up the sun at the beach, cheering on at Friday night games, whipping up delicious meals together, or engaging in a friendly game of soccer.

Maddy Staines

Marketing Executive

Maddy is a dedicated Marketing Executive at Sentinel Insurance Partners. As the daughter of parents who have spent a collective 6+ decades in the trucking insurance industry, it’s safe to say that an appreciation for auto haulers and their unique insurance needs runs in Maddy’s blood. With over a decade of experience in customer care, she is excited to support Sentinel’s clients with compassion, efficiency, and expertise.

Maddy’s sense of adventure and competitive spirit have led to travels throughout the country and to an unconventional collection of accolades. Growing up, Maddy competed in show jumping on the state and national level, winning the top medals for junior riders in Georgia. She also found a passion for acting, a pursuit that brought her to Los Angeles where she booked a handful of roles in movies and tv shows. Though Maddy has lived in all corners of the country, she is currently based in Austin, Texas, where she spends her off-the-clock time with her husband, Matt, enjoying the incredible food, music, and sporting events the city has to offer. She is thrilled to be a part of the Sentinel team, and looks forward to supporting our clients with enthusiasm and joy!

Jessica Moore

Account Manager

Jessica is an enthusiastic Account Manager returning to the insurance field after a two-year break, bringing with her over 25 years of exceptional customer service experience. With a background in both personal and commercial lines, she is excited to transition into a career focused on insuring the trucking and transportation industry.

Originally from New York, Jessica made the move to Florida nearly five years ago, where she quickly immersed herself in her community. Outside of her professional pursuits, she is heavily involved in her son’s high school marching band and enjoys spending quality time with her family at the beach and Disney World. Jessica’s daughter is also active in sports, playing both soccer and softball, which keeps the family busy and bonded.

As an Account Manager, Jessica is eager to leverage her skills and passion for customer service to ensure that our clients receive the best care and support in the ever-evolving insurance landscape.

Vanessa Mundrean

Accounting Specialist

Vanessa Mundrean, Sentinel’s dedicated Accounting Specialist, hails from New York, but now calls Florida home. With over 20 years of experience working in finance in the education sector, Vanessa is excited to transition her vast skillset and expertise to the world of transportation insurance.  

Outside of work, she is a proud mom to three boys, and whether they are on the go with their activities or just enjoying quality time together, Vanessa’s family is the heart of her world. She is an avid reader and loves to stay active. She’s especially passionate about running and is working toward running the NYC Marathon!

Whether at work or at home, Vanessa is always up for embracing new challenges and is passionate about learning and growing with every project she undertakes. Her dedication, enthusiasm, and attention to detail make her an invaluable member of Team Sentinel. 

Julian Bumper

Account Executive

Julian Bumper joins Sentinel as an enthusiastic Account Executive with a strong work ethic and a deeply-rooted passion for transportation insurance—something he proudly shares with his mom, Maria, Sentinel’s Director of Sales and Marketing.

Julian is no stranger to commitment and perseverance. He attended Elon University, where he earned a B.S.B.A. in both Finance and Marketing, with a minor in Leadership Studies. During his five years at Elon, he was a dedicated member of the football team, lettering all five seasons while balancing academic commitments and his responsibilities as member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

Outside of work, Julian enjoys working out, watching sports with friends, and spending time with his dog, Phoenix. As the youngest of three boys and an accomplished athlete, Julian’s unbeatable work ethic, competitive spirit, and team mentality make him a strong asset to the Sentinel Team.

Ren Talgi

Customer Service Representative

Fluent in English and Arabic

Ren Talgi brings her warmth and passion to her role as Customer Service Representative. Her client-first approach to every interaction stems from her years of customer service experience and a love for connecting with others. Originally from Lebanon and raised between Beirut and Dubai, she found her way to Austin, Texas in 2021, and instantly fell in love with the city’s unique culture and incredible food.

In addition to her service-centered career pursuits, Ren holds a degree in 3D Animation, and her creative background adds a unique perspective to how she approaches problem-solving and client care. Bilingual in English and Arabic, she’s able to connect with a broad range of clients and communities with ease and empathy.

Outside of work, she’s into sci-fi movies, binge-worthy TV shows, and video games. She’s also passionate about coffee, cool cars, and motorcycles, though she’s still working on getting her Class M license before she officially hits the road.

Globally rooted, creatively driven, and always curious, Ren’s heart and hustle make her an asset to the Sentinel Team.
